Clients who follow us on social and local media may be aware that the firm continues to expand across all departments, and a further recruitment drive is underway.
The last year has seen Claire Egerton, Director and head of the firm’s Residential Property department, face one of the toughest challenges of her life. In September 2022, Claire was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Although it has been a difficult year for Claire and her family and extended work family, we have stuck together. Battling through her chemotherapy and a double mastectomy, she is now in good health, having been given the all-clear. Claire is delighted to be back at work full-time and getting back into the environment she thrives in.
Claire’s resilience and determination are endemic within the firm’s DNA. Claire ensured that her department was able to continue to provide a high level of service to her clients throughout the stages of her treatment, and the strength and determination of both Claire and her colleagues have been remarkable.
Claire is now back to full fitness and has enjoyed a constant flurry of well wishes from her contacts and clients in the industry, notably having taken new instructions across some of the biggest and exciting new build sites in the North West and Lancashire regions extending Nationally on some projects. Claire’s expertise in the residential property market is unrivalled, and she is revered for providing excellent service to clients for whom she and the team act for. With the appointment of Nicola Schofield to assist with the local conveyancing work and Gaynor Turner, who joins the firm as Head of Post Completions from National Firm JMW Solicitors LLP, this is an exciting time for the team and the wider firm.
Rebecca O’Donnell, Director, said:
“Claire is a shining example of what can be achieved through adversity. Her positivity, courage and determination to keep going in such a worrying period of her life is truly inspiring.
“All of the team are proud of the work that Claire does and her dedication to servicing her clients. She is a highly respected and valued member of our team, and we are delighted that she is back at work full-time.”
Claire commented: “I am delighted to have been able to get through the treatment, for the care I have received from The Nightingale at Wythenshawe and The Christie, and I am feeling back to full health. I am grateful to my own family and my colleagues and Co-Directors at O’Donnell Solicitors for the compassion and support shown. Battling the big ‘C’ is both scary and lonely at times, but with the support I’ve had, it definitely picked the wrong person to take on! I am looking forward to reconnecting with my professional network and getting on with some exciting projects.”
Claire’s passion for her work and dedication to her clients and contacts is unrivalled, and she has been welcomed back with open arms. We are all looking forward to the continued success of her team and the wider firm.
