O’Donnell Solicitors are pleased to have advised WCG Chapel & Field Limited on the acquisition of both Chapel and Field View Care Homes in Barnsley, adding to the growing portfolio of care homes under the Wood Care Group who now operate a total of seven care homes across Greater Manchester and Yorkshire.
The deal, which Cynergy Bank Limited funded, comprised the acquisition of goodwill and assets of the two homes operating from the site. This deal brings the total number of companies operating under the ownership of the group to seven, marking a significant milestone for the Group, which has seen sustained growth over the last few years.
Andrew Wood, Director at Wood Care Group, commented:
“We are delighted to have added the two new homes to our group and would like to thank the team at O’Donnell’s for their support throughout this transaction. We look forward to working with them again in the near future as we continue to expand.”
James O’Donnell, Director and head of Corporate and Commercial at O’Donnell Solicitors, commented:
“It is a pleasure to be able to continue to support and assist the Wood Care Group along its impressive journey. This strategic acquisition marks the seventh business within the family-owned Group.
“I’d like to congratulate Andrew, Jenny, Tom and the team on another successful acquisition and addition to their growing portfolio in the care sector. I know that their personal touch and strive to provide the very best care for residents will make this another successful venture for the Group.”
This deal is the latest in a recent line of transactions that the Corporate and Commercial teams have overseen in the Care sector. As highlighted in our previous blog, Sales and Acquisitions in the Care Sector – Issue to Consider, there are several criteria that must be met by both buyers and sellers – in particular, those requirements of the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
O’Donnell Solicitors has extensive deal experience in the care sector and is well-placed to advise both buyers and sellers in relation to a proposed sale or purchase.
