Salary: Negotiable depending on experience

Reports to: Head of Department /Director

Job Purpose: To assist the Conveyancing Department working both autonomously and as part of a team.

CQS accredited firm is now seeking Conveyancing Assistant.

Key Responsibilities

  1. To assist the Conveyancing Department with varying administrative tasks
  2. To use initiative and prepare correspondence and legal documents under supervision
  3. To take client calls and calls to other professionals and provide information and updates as requested and directed
  4. To utilise the firms case management systems within the limit of their ability as requested by their supervisor.
  5. To open and close files.
  6. To answer the telephones promptly, taking messages and following up where necessary in a pro-active manner.

Person Specification Essential Skills & qualifications

  • A good level of education.
  • Competent typing ability.
  • Excellent IT Skills with working knowledge of all MS applications especially Word.
  • Have excellent organisational and communication skills. Desirable Skills & qualifications
  • Have an in depth understanding of the legal secretary role and administration process within the profession.
  • Knowledge and experience of working in a busy Conveyancing department
